Just stopped by to say hello to all.. I will be joining in on the conversation from time to time trying to help but most trying to learn from you guys.

Bits about myself :
I build many 2.5 race as well as recreational engines in the states as wells as abroad.
I am multi time World and High Point Champion ( back to back years ) in outboard Drag racing in the US. I am retired from EXXON 31 years in the fuels division. I have owned JSRE ( Jay Smith Racing Engines ) for 14 + years my web site is www.jaysmithracing.com I am ashamed to say our web site has not been up dated for a few years and we have allot more tools and parts to make the gear heads life easier..

I am Married to LOVELY CATHY of 19 years, we have 2 children ( Milissa 35 and Jayme 27 , with one grand "rat" Garrett 13 ) Have 4 dogs ( 3 Boston Terriers and 1 over weight Rat Terrier )

Never hesitate to call me or e-mail for help , I love to talk engines. I am very versed on 2.5s ( all of em ) don't waste the call on 3 liters or OPTI's DUNNO nor care about them..

Well gotta get to work, ( salt mines , :D )
Peace,
Jay @ JSRE

Welcome aboard Jay.

Thank you for bringing your expertise & knowledge to these humble pages. Dare I say I don’t think you need an introduction bud, your reputation & work ethic proceed you.

I always think back fondly to the 6 months I spent in East Texas many years ago when doing the ATPL based out of Nacogdoches, think I flew that part of the country to death, Tyler, Longview, Shreveport, Texarkana, Jasper, Beaumont, Pineland. Had some great times on the Sam Rayburn Reservoir on the days off, geez was it really this lifetime.
It was during this time in my life I developed a dislike for the Water Moccasin – It has a real attitude, bloody things

Snakes are bad ass here at my house/shop I live in the woods very close to a bayou/swamp. Water Mockisons , Copper heads, coral snakes and ground rattle snakes are VERY present. We have 4 dogs and at least 2 to three times a season one will get popped and their heads swell up about twice its size and I get popped with a $200.00 vet bill..I saw a chicken snake ( non venimous ) skin that was shed of all places at the top of the roof guttering. ( 38 feet from ground level ) they eat the birds thats made nests in the gutters.. Cathy freaked out and asked if they could get in the house and I said no but hell they got to the gutter they sure could get in the house....

Take care all of you guys ,
Cheers,
Jay and Cathy @ JSRE
